The AMAPEX ( 3 Chamber) PLASTIC PURIFYING SEPTIC TANK operates under sound chemical and biochemical engineering principles. The system is arranged in a stage-wise configuration: first through the anaerobic digestive chamber, next through the filtering chamber and finally through the aerobic culturing chamber. Each chamber contributes to a percentage degradation of the organic matter resulting in a high overall degradation. Sedimentation in the anaerobic digestive chamber is promoted by the quiescent condition. The bacterial population in the filtering chamber and the aerobic culturing chamber are attached to the surface and do not go out with the effluent, thus maintaining a high constant microbial density for the degradation. The above mentioned principles are the same principles used in the design of modern bioreactors. A bioreactor is a vessel where biological reaction takes place to breakdown waste into simple form.

Economical

Requires minimal space, labor, installation time and cement. The plastic tank including installation cost is lower by 40% compared to the conventional type of septic tank.

Durability

Conventional concrete tanks can be affected by earth movements and crack easily. It is not guaranteed to be seepage free. The Amapex PST is made of flexible polyethylene plastic and will never crack under normal use. It has a life span of more than 50 years. The Amapex PST is almost maintenance-free except for desludging when necessary.

Consistent Quality

The Amapex PST is prefabricated and is ready for installation. The quality and specification are consistent. On the other hand the quality of a conventional septic tank depends on the contractor who will construct and install it on site. If not inspected by proper authorities, substandard or improperly designed septic tank maybe installed. With the Amapex PST, the contractors have no chance to install an improperly designed septic tank since the system is prefabricated.

Environment Friendly

The Amapex PST helps solve another pollution problem. It is made of recycled and scrap plastics. Improperly disposed plastic materials clog drainage systems, which is one of the major causes of floods. Waste plastics are non-biodegradable and even harmful to animals and nature. The Amapex PST is applicable to all types of soil. It is applicable even for coastal towns because it is leak-proof. The installation of the unit will not cause contamination of the ground water. Unhygeinic and odorous water from wells can be avoided.

Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and total solids removal is 80%.

Applicable even to Centralized Treatment Systems

The Amapex PST can still be used in homes that are connected to centralized waste water treatment systems. This will lower the cost of treatment of domestic sewage in a centralized system.

Transferable

Unlike concrete septic tanks, the Amapex PST is transferable. If ever there is a need to transfer an installed Amapex PST from one place to another, just empty and remove it from the ground. It can be reinstalled to another site. This is impossible for a concrete septic tank.

1. Assemble the septic tank body, the culturing chamber, strainer, the inlet and outlet sockets. For additional support nail the culturing chamber to the tank from the inside up to the ribs or stiffeners located around the tank.

2. Dig a hole about 1.6 meters deep and with a diameter measuring about 1.5 meters.

3. Level the ground at the bottom of the hole by spreading about 10 cm. of gravel and 10 cm. of sand over the ground ensuring optimum compaction.

4. Lower the purifying septic tank into the hole and make some adjustments so that the cover of the manhole shall be 7 cm. above natural grade line or at a level to suit the required elevation of the inlet/outlet pipe.

5. Connect the inlet pipe of the tank to the toilet's outlet pipe and the outlet pipe of the tank to the drainage.

6. Fill the strainer with gravel (G-2) for about 90% fullness.

Option for a more purifying effect:

Fill:

1st layer - 30% G-2 Gravel

2nd layer - 30% Charcoal

3rd layer - 30% G-2 Gravel

7. Fill the surroundings of the tank with soil, sand and gravel (avoid big stones). Pour concrete cement on the ground surface leaving the manhole cover exposed.

8. Make sure that the newly installed septic tank is filled with water to prevent possible floating due to hydraulic pressure introduced by the possible presence of ground water.
